This is an incredible large size Sorrento Ware box. The intricate and detailed inlaid patterns are deployed on all the sides and top of the box. Amazing craftsmanship, this was produced in Sorrento, Italy during the Victorian era (likely 1880s). Someone traveling on a Grand Tour likely purchased it as a souvenir.
